Patrick O'Bryan is currently Chair of the national Round-table Assoc. of Catholic Diocesan Social Action Directors. They work with several board committees, convene and speak at our annual Symposium at the Catholic Social Ministry Gathering in Washington DC, as well as our annual 5-day Social Action Summer Institute. The Round-table networks and communicates across the country to upgrade and share the best practices of diocesan social action directors among the almost 200 diocese in the U.S. Patrick is also President of the O'Bryan Foundation, which funds various charitable causes. The O'Bryan Foundation is a charitable organization founded to support religious, scientific, educational, medical efforts that it deems suitable and worthwhile. He previously was chair both of the Ohio Catholic Rural Life Conference and the Center for Restorative Justice of North Central Ohio. Patrick was co- Founder and first chair of the Immigrant Worker Project in Ohio. He was the initiating organizer of the statewide Ohio Coalition for Responsible Lending, which successfully won a ballot initiative concerning payday lending. Patrick will be announcing publicly in several weeks his transitioning to Chicago the end of January, 2015, to work for the Office of Peace and Justice of the Archdiocese of Chicago.Patrick was also the Chair for Center for Restorative Justice. He Obtained national Catholic CCHD criminal justice grant to further the work of the CRJ, which diverted youth from police and municipal courts in four counties to affect reconciliation and restitution between victims and their offenders. A joint collaboration of Catholics and Mennonites. He was a Social Action Director for the Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland for almost 20 years. Patrick work includes legislative and social advocacy; teaching Catholic social teachings and building leadership; being an event organizer and fundraiser, community organizer and net-worker with legislators, public officials, agency and business leaders, church leaders, citizens. He will also announce publicly in some months time further duties I will undertake in Chicago. Patrick is a 1968 graduate (11th in class) of Loyola Academy in Willamette, IL. Patrick has been to forty-four countries. He used to co-own a travel agency and specialized in international golf tours.
